Parents finding parents
Many parents feel alone when their child learns differently. Talking to someone who has been there helps.
We’re looking for
- Safe ways to connect parents who live near each other
- What makes a parent group last beyond the first meeting
Things to keep in mind
- Privacy matters: many families have not told relatives or neighbours
- Groups fade when one person carries them; shared roles help
- Fathers and grandparents are often left out of parent groups
- A group needs a gentle way to handle advice that could do harm
Your next step
Every hour given here is an hour a family does not face alone.
