Learning aids families can make at home
Good learning aids cost money and are hard to find. Many can be made from everyday things.
We’re looking for
- Designs using cardboard, bottle caps, cloth or seeds
- Instructions with pictures that anyone can follow
Things to keep in mind
- Safety first: no small parts for young children, nothing sharp, nothing toxic
- An aid only helps if it is used; designs should be quick to make and fun to use
- Pictures beat words for instructions, so families who read little can still follow
- Aids should build on what a child enjoys, not only on what they find hard
Your next step
Every hour given here is an hour a family does not face alone.
